Hospice care is designed for individuals with a life expectancy of six months or less who choose to prioritize comfort and quality of life. Diagnoses commonly associated with hospice care include cancer and other end-stage diseases:

General Guidelines

Hospice-appropriate individuals may show some or all of the following:

• Frequent Hospitalizations
• Progressive Weight Loss
• Deteriorating Mental Abilities
• Recurrent Infections
• Specific Decline in Condition

Comfort Plus Hospice provides services wherever our patients call home:

• House or Apartment
• A Friend or Relative’s Home
• Assisted Living Facility
• Nursing Home

• Individuals with a life-limiting illness and a limited life expectancy.
• Patients and families focusing on comfort and symptom management over curative treatment.
• Those who prefer not to pursue extreme life-sustaining measures.

Hospice care is a fully covered benefit under Medicare and Medicaid, with no time limits, and is also included in many private insurance plans. Most insurance covers hospice care, including necessary medications, supplies, and equipment related to the hospice diagnosis, often with no out-of-pocket costs for the patient.

Early referrals enable patients and families to receive the full spectrum of hospice services, maximizing comfort, support, and quality of life.
